Here at the Laramie Peak Humane Society we always have something exciting going on. There are so many opportunities to volunteer, and we're always looking for caring people to join in on the fun. We have a variety of day to day activities, events and annual projects that we can always use help with. If you have a unique skill set or you're interested in joining a committee or volunteering at the humane society, please contact us to get started.

Socialize Animals: If you have a bit of free time, come down to the Humane Society and walk or play ball with a dog, brush a cat, or snuggle a kitten. Every minute spent with an animal is important! Socialization boosts the animals spirits, and more importantly increases their chances for adoption.

Foster Animals: By providing a foster home, you offer a supportive and loving environment that helps ease the transition from the shelter to a forever home. Some pets do not fair well in a loud, unknown shelter environment, but they do fantastic in a home setting. When pets are at their happiest, they are far more attractive to adopters! Learn more.

Adoption Events: LPHS regularly partners with local business including Memorial Hospital of Converse County, Wagn' Tail Design and Tractor Supply in special adoption events. Team up with us as we take pets to off-site adoption events and help them find their forever homes.

Fundraising: LPHS has several fundraising events throughout the year including Paws and Pearls, Putt for Paws, and the Dog Gone Race. These events take an enormous amount of planning, networking, volunteer time, and talent. If you are interested in volunteering your talent and or time, we are in need of a decoration committee, and a number of helpers.

Community Cats Program: The Community Cats Program is absolutely crucial to managing the number of homeless cats in Converse County. LPHS relies on tips from the community in order to locate unaltered feral cat populations. It's our goal to educate the community and surrounding areas on the importance of TNR. Learn about TNR, spread the word, and volunteer to distribute neighborhood door notifications when Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is taking place in an area.

Board Members: If you are someone with an interest in the Laramie Peak Humane Society, the animals, and the services we provide, you may be interested in joining our Board of Directors. The purpose of the board of directors is to advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of the Laramie Peak Humane Society so as to support the organization’s mission and needs. We are in need of individuals who enjoy any number of interests: Non profit organizations, Business Planning, Financial Planning, Fund Raising, Activity Coordination, Decoration, and Public Education. If you have a unique skill set or believe in the mission of the LPHS, please contact the board today!

We bought our dog from here two years ago. He’s the best dog I’ve ever owned! We have been going up as a family to volunteer a little time each week... Keep up the good work!
